450 people visit Wan Okasi: “Not everybody could be here”
Four hundred and fifty people who have a Money Card that has already expired but still haven’t received a new one showed up at the registration office of stichting Wan Okasi. Aniel Koedjbiharie, chairman of the foundation that speaks on behalf of people with a disability, made it clear that there are more people with a disability who have never received the purchasing power boost.”I have received phone calls from people with the same problem but who could not visit the foundation because of the long distance. “Not everybody could be here,” said Koendjbiharie. The chairman explained that a woman traveled all the way from Wageningen to Paramaribo to get registered and that she took a bus to return home after she was registered.
