2014 Auditor General Report

GUYANA- The Auditor General Report for 2014 has zeroed in on a number of irregularities in the operations of the Public Service Ministry, under the previous administration. The ministry came under scrutiny following the May 11th general elections which saw the coalition government under David Granger entering office, ending the two-decade run of the People’s Progressive Party/Civic. The former minister, Dr. Jennifer Westford, and her personal assistant, Margaret Cummings were placed before the courts for allegedly transferring a number of state vehicles to themselves in the lead-up to the elections. The two are also the centre of a police investigation involving the disappearance of more than $600M from the ministry.(KAIETEUR NEWS/kaieteurnewsonline.com)…[+]
