GUYANA-Mahdia residents who have been complaining for years now about water problems are set to receive some measure of relief soon. According to the Guyana Water Inc. (GWI), its Chief Executive, Dr. Richard Van West-Charles, visited that Region Eight community last week to address the challenges being faced by the Regional Administration with regard to water supply. The GWI boss was accompanied by senior management including Executive Director of state-owned utility’s Infrastructure, Planning and Implementation Department (IPID), Ramchand Jailal. During a visit to the Campbelltown community, the team from GWI observed that the community required a new electrical pump for the facility which supplied the area with water.  According to the Director of IPID, GWI will be collaborating with the Regional Administration within the next 10 days to replace the pump.(KAIETEUR NEWS/ kaieteurnewsonline.com)…[+]
