U.S. donates 1,000 hazmat suits to Suriname
SURINAME – US Southern Command General John Kelly from the United States Marine on Thursday gave 1,000 hazmat suits to Suriname’s Defense Minister Lamuré Latour on behalf of the United States of America. The Defense minister in turn symbolically gave the hazmat suits to Health Minister Michael Blokland at the Sgt 1 Martowidjojo Barracks located along the Kennedy Highway at Concordia. Minister Latour pointed out that a level 4 hazmat suit costs $ 900 and that it would have cost the State $ 900,000 if it had purchased one thousand suits.
