A retailer was recently assaulted and robbed by two robbers who had entered his store located in the Sophia’s Lustweg. The masked robbers who were dressed in black walked inside the store before one of them pointed his gun at the retailer who was standing behind the cash register. The victim started wrestling with one of the robbers so the other robber fired two shots in the store to break up the fight. Both robbers then kicked the retailer before making off with ten thousand Surinamese dollars and two smartphones. After the had robbed the retailer, the robbers fled the scene on foot. Bystanders told the police that both robbers were picked up by a white car. The retailer notified the police of the armed robbery. The investigation is ongoing. The perpetrators are still at large…[+]
