Police force develops app to  trace origin of illegal weapons

PARMARIBO – The police on Friday announced that they have launched an investigation to find out where the illegal weapons that were seized came from. Police Commissioner Bryan Isaacs revealed that the ICT division of the police force has developed an application to keep track of all the weapons that are seized. This information will be placed in a database that will be linked with the databases of regional and international agencies. “That way we can find out if the weapons are from another country. We will also receive equipment that will make it easier to investigate these weapons,” said Commissioner Isaacs who added that the focus is aimed at illegal weapons. The police commissioner made it clear that all illegal weapons will be taken out of the community. “This is how we want to make people feel safe.
