CORONIE – The healthcare sector in the Coronie District requires much improvement. There is still no permanent doctor in this district and medicines are also scarce. MP Remi Tarnadi pointed out that the Cuban doctor who is currently in the Coronie District only handles emergency cases. But the Cuban doctor had an accident recently which is why his right-hand is currently in a cast. The Surinamese doctor is currently still on sick leave. MP Tarnadi pointed  out that the minister of Health and the Regionale Gezondheidsdienst (RGD) have not done anything although they are aware of the situation.
