President: “Visit to AZP is not an election stunt”

PARAMARIBO – President Chandrikapersad Santokhi who was given a tour of the nation’s biggest hospital, the Academic Hospital Paramaribo (AZP), last Thursday told Times of Suriname that his visit to the hospital was not an election stunt. He made this statement after he was asked if his visit had something to do with the general elections of May 2025.

The director of the AZP, Claudia Redan, gave President Santokhi and Health Minister Amar Ramadhin a tour of the hospital. Many projects aimed at reconstructing and expanding the AZP are currently being carried out.
