PARAMARIBO – The first limited edition bag of  Stichting Dierenbescherming Suriname (DBS) and  Readytex NV will be presented at the DSB book market that will be organized at the Animal Shelter this Sunday to celebrate World Animal Day. Global animal protection is a critical issue that many fight for and face daily. World Animal Day helps bring people together to increase awareness and improve education worldwide so animals can live the lives they deserve.

The introduction of the special DSB bag is aimed at raising funds for the organization but it is also aimed at protecting the environment as the bags are reusable.

DBS and Readytex NV are proud of the fact that the books and bags are made in Suriname. The animal print on the first edition of these special bags were designed by local artist Rinaldo Klas who is fond of animals and who always emphasizes the relation between humans, animals and nature. The DSB bag is a must have for people who love animals and art.

DBS and Readytex NV are breathing new life into their collaboration that began in 2013 with this project. In 2013 they launched a ‘limited-edition’ T-shirt line which was concluded in 2020 and which resulted in 18 unique DSB T-shirts. The last 9 prints were designed by artists from the Readytex Art Gallery.

This special collaboration was frozen by the emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic. The limited edition bags can be purchased at the Animal Shelter which is located across the street from the Paramaribo Zoo on October 6th. As of Monday the bags can also be purchased at Readytex in the Maagdenstraat 44-48…[+]
