Another cane-harvester’s son has excelled at the University of Guyana. This time it’s Sasenarine Tomby. Tomby, whose father is a cane harvester and mother a housewife, obtained a distinction in the Bachelor of Social Science Degree Programme in Public Management.

Tomby received the Republic Bank Award for his achievement at the 14th Annual Convocation Exercise of the University Of Guyana Campus at Tain, Corentyne, on Saturday. Some 105 graduated from the Faculty of Social Sciences, 36 from the Faculty of Education and Humanities and 33 from the Faculty of Natural Sciences.
