BEIJING — Chinese President Xi Jinping met here on Saturday with International Olympic Committee President Thomas Bach, pledging to host a fantastic, extraordinary and excellent Winter Games in 2022. Xi said that Chinese government has always attached great importance to sport and the significant role of the Olympic Movement in economic and social development. Beijing was chosen to host the 2022 Winter Games at the 128th IOC session in Kuala Lumpur on July 31, becoming the first ever city to stage both Summer and Winter Olympics.
