Curfew imposed in Spanish Town after reputed gang leader killed
JAMAICA – The communities of Ellerslie Pen and Tawes Meadows in Spanish Town, St Catherine are now under curfew. The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) says the curfew will remain until 6:00 pm on Friday, January 25. NORTH: From the roundabout, travelling along Spanish Town Bypass about 600 metres to the intersection of Williams Street and Spanish Town Bypass;
EAST: From the intersection of Williams Street and Spanish Town Bypass, travelling about 800 metres, to the intersection of Williams Street and French Street;
SOUTH: From the intersection of French Street and Williams Street, travelling about 900 metres to the intersection of Oxford Road and Spanish Town Bypass; and
WEST: From the intersection of Oxford Road and Spanish Town Bypass, travelling about 500 metres to the roundabout.
Persons within the boundaries of the curfew are required to remain within their premises unless otherwise authorised by the commander enforcing the curfew. Police are maintaining a presence in the area following the killing of an alleged gangster on Wednesday. Several businesses in Spanish Town also remained closed on Thursday. (Jamaicaobserver)
