Friends of the Mungra Medical Center (MMC) Nickerie have once again donated medical equipment and medicines to the hospital. Last Tuesday the donation was officially handed over to the medical director of the MMC, Farhan Djorai, by surgeon Chanderban Mahabier on behalf of the donors. Mahabier visits Suriname at least twice each year to lend a helping hand in the MMC. Every time that Mahabier visits Suriname he brings along stuff that he has collected in the Netherlands. The medical equipment and the medicines that were donated have an estimated value of about € 400,000. The MMC expressed its gratitude to surgeon Arie van de Ham who donated the medical equipment and who also works at the MMC whenever he can. Mahabier who provided the medicines for the hospital’s pharmacy urged the nation to keep supporting the MMC. “You do not have to be a Nickerie resident. Arie van der
