Isaacs: “35 guns seized in third semester 2024”
The Police Force Suriname (KPS) reportedly arrested 1,646 suspects in the third semester of 2024. 907 of these suspects were put in jail. They were charged with serious offences such as robbery, burglaries, drug dealing and other crimes. The police announced that illegal guns were seized and taken out of circulation. A total of 35 guns were seized in the third quarter. But the police also revoked 181 driver’s licences and presented 1,357 files to the Public Prosecutor’s Office.
