PARAMARIBO – 18-year-old R.M. was recently found guilty of having sex with two underage girls on multiple occasions. The judge sentenced him to 12 months in prison. The prosecutor told the court that the defendant was dating both girls. He befriended one of the girls via TikTok and invited her to his grandmother’s house where they took many selfies before kissing each other. In December 2023 the girl went to a motel with the defendant and they reportedly had unsafe sex with each other. After that she wanted to break up with him but he threatened to use revenge porn against her. The defendant’s grandmother confirmed that the girl and the defendant had been to her house. She claimed that she did not know that the girl was fifteen years old but she also admitted to seeing the girl in a blue school uniform on one occasion.

R.M. also had sex with another underage girl whom he befriended via a WhatsApp group. He evidently had more than 366 pornographic pictures and videos of various girls. The defendant was a member of a group of people who shared pornographic material with each other. The Public Prosecutor’s Office had reportedly demanded that the defendant be sentenced to 3 years in prison.
