No support for discussion of Constitutional Court in Parliament

SURINAME – Thursday’s  public session of Parliament did not go through due to a lack of quorum.

Only 23 members of the  coalition were present to discuss several matters  including  the Constitutional Court Bill. The members of the opposition did not sign the attendance list because according to them the Constitutional Court Bill should  not have been placed as the first topic  on the agenda. The legislators from the opposition indicated that they preferred to continue the discussion of the Amendment of the Attorney Act. The legislators from the coalition deemed  this as “a fallacy.”…[+]
