Retailer takes money out of customer’s pocket

PARAMARIBO – A 57-year-old retailer on Thursday was arrested by the police of the Corantijnpolder. B.I. who was reportedly arrested on a violent theft charge had allegedly taken money out of the pocket of 43-year-old R.S. During the course of the investigation the police found out that R.S. had not paid B.I. for the things that had he had bought in the store. When the customer set foot inside the store located along the Ramadhar Rajaramweg in the Nickerie District a week ago things got out of hand. The retailer became furious and hit the customer on the head with an object before punching him several times. He then decided to take the law into his own hands and forcibly took money out of the pocket of R.S. After R.S. had pressed charges against B.I., the police summoned the suspect to the police station. When the suspect showed up at the police station, he was arrested and put in jail.
