PARAMARIBO -Officers from the  Cold Case Unit on Tuesday tracked down and arrested a male suspect on an armed robbery charge. L.B. is suspected of having been involved in an armed robbery that was committed in the Calcuttastraat on August 25th 2023. The driver and another person who were in a vehicle that was transporting money for H.J. Cambio were shot at by five armed men. The passenger sustained serious gunshot wounds and was rushed to the Emergency Room at the Academic Hospital Paramaribo where he was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival. The driver remained unharmed. The police are still looking for the other suspects. The investigation is ongoing. L.B. is currently in jail awaiting trial…[+]
