Syrians continue desperate search for disappeared loved ones
SYRIA – Aya Majzoub, deputy regional director for the Middle East and North Africa at Amnesty International, stresses that many Syrian families are waging a difficult fight for answers since the ouster of al-Assad. “Only a fraction of the 100,000+ missing have been released” since the Syrian government fell, Majzoub wrote in a post on X. “Families are scouring hospitals & prisons for any clue – documents, bodies, inscriptions on walls – desperately trying to piece together what happened,” she said.
