PARAMARIBO – A teenager was arrested shortly after a jailbreak last Thursday. The police managed to track him down before putting him in handcuffs in the vicinity of the corner of the Mr. Jaggernath Lachmonstraat and the Nickeriestraat. The suspect who had been arrested on a theft charge and who had been locked up in the Opa Doelie Juvenile Detention Center located in the Nickerie District managed to make a run for it. The police officers who were on duty that day sounded the alarm as soon as they had realized that the suspect had escaped. When the suspect escaped from the  jailhouse at the juvenile detention center he was only wearing short pants. After a short while the police were told that the suspect had been spotted in the vicinity of the corner of the Mr. Jaggernath Lachmonstraat and the Nickeriestraat. The police are currently trying to figure out how it was possible for the suspect to escape from the juvenile detention center. …[+]
