PARAMARIBO – Two men on Friday night sustained a gunshot wound in the northern part of Paramaribo. The motive behind this shooting is still unclear. Both men were rushed to the Emergency Room in an ambulance. Sources told Times of Suriname that the shooting took place in the vicinity of  a betting shop that is located in the Albrecht Durestraat. It is suspected that the owner of the betting shop had fired the shots. One of the men who was shot in his hip went to the Smeltzweg to look for help. He was the first person to be rushed to the Emergency Room. While the police were busy with the investigation, they spotted another man who had also been shot in the Albrecht Durestraat.
