Woman remanded on ganja, ammo charges

A Tucville Squatting Area resident was remanded to prison yesterday after it was alleged that she had an illegal fire arm, ammunition and two grams of cannabis in her possession. Lizolette La Cruz, 25, appeared before Magistrate Ann McLennan at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court after she was accused of having a .25 pistol and 6.25 rounds of ammunition in her possession on August 6, 2015, when she was not the holder of a firearm licence. It was also alleged that on the day in question, she had two grammes of cannabis in her possession. She denied the firearm and ammunition charge and pleaded guilty to the drug charge after they were read to her.(Kaieteur news)…[+]
