Wageningen residents demand state bus for Nieuw  Nickerie route

The residents of Wageningen recently complained about the fact that the National Transportation Company  (NVB) still has not deployed another state bus on the  Wageningen-Nieuw Nickerie route. The bus driver who transported passengers on this route called it quits in September 2024 due to a delay in payments. But after this driver had called it quits the NVB did not deploy another bus on this route. The passengers therefore have to pay a lot of money when they take a private bus to reach Nieuw Nickerie. Most of the residents made it clear that they can’t afford to take a private bus but that they have to go to the hospital in  Nieuw Nickerie to visit patients or to pick up medicines. They therefore urge the government to deploy a bus on their route so that they could once again have access to affordable public transportation. A one way ticket on a private bus currently costs SRD 100.
