PARAMARIBO – A woman on Sunday night allegedly set fire to the house of her children located in the Pamoestraat in Paramaribo-North.

Fire Department Spokesman Olton Pinas told Times of Suriname that one of the children told the Fire Department that her mother set fire to a mattress after an argument. The woman’s daughter, son and daughter in-law lived in one of two houses that were located on the same premises. Their mother lives in the other house.

The house in which the children lived went up in flames. No injuries were reported.
