Ninth dengue death

TRINIDAD – Trinidad and Tobago’s dengue death toll has increased, with confirmation Thursday by the Ministry of Health of a ninth fatality related to the virus.

There has been no increase in infections with the ministry reporting 911 confirmed cases, the same as it reported in its August 21 update on dengue cases in the country. Dengue deaths were up to last Wednesday reported at eight people by the ministry. In its epidemiological update yesterday, the ministry said there were “911 laboratory confirmed cases of dengue fever and nine laboratory confirmed deaths”.
