PARAMARIBO – The residents of Kabalebo are thinking about organising a protest this Thursday, because weak households and people with a disability still haven’t received their welfare. Sergio King will reportedly prepare and coordinate the peaceful protest.

 District Commissioner Josta Lewis explained that she supports each form of protest that is in the people’s best interest. She has repeatedly tried to speak to the minister, but she only got to meet the minister’s representatives. The representatives did not give clear answers to all of her questions.

DC Lewis wishes the protestors success and hopes that they will yield results. The Ministry of Social Affairs and Housing must fulfill its obligations. People need the welfare to buy school supplies for their children…[+]
