After 7 years Alice Amafo officially returned to the ABOP last Saturday. She also had a message for her supporters when she appeared on stage at a rally of the ABOP.
“Brunswijk will become the new president. I urge everybody, who throughout the years left the party, to come back. Let's shock everyone and join forces. We must work hard because on May 25th we must vote to make sure that Ronnie Brunswijk becomes the new president of Suriname,” said Amafo at the rally that was held at Bronsplein in the Gemenelandsweg. Brunswijk explained that the rally was an important moment to determine how many people actually support him. The party which turned 35 on February 11th also celebrated its 35th anniversary last Saturday. “These past couple of weeks a lot was said about the ABOP but we did not respond. But today we will let our voices be heard. Many people from other parties have come to strengthen the ABOP and I am grateful for the support. I respect everyone's contribution and I admire the fact that they all want to work to let ABOP win the elections,” said Brunswijk who introduced various people who have left the VHP, NPS and NDP to join the ABOP. Brunswijk also introduced several popular artists who will also support his party.
