A man who was trying to break into a building located along the Oost-Westverbinding was gunned down by the homeowner. The police officers from the Meerzorg Police Department responded to the call about the attempted burglary / deadly shooting.
When they arrived on the scene, they found out that the shooter, F.W., is the owner of a zinc sheet company and that he pulled out his gun and fired several shots when he realized that somebody was trying to break into his building. The trespasser died at the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
