GUYANA - Police are looking for two men who, removed an impounded mo-torcycle from the Amelia’s Ward police outpost, last Wednesday afternoon, ...
The Guyana Police Force (GPF) said in a statement last Thursday that the incident is being taken seriously as both men are known to the police. The GPF stated, “Once apprehended, will face the full force of the law.” The incident unfolded around 18:01 hrs. when a police constable brought a black and grey Skylar motorcycle without a license plate, into the outpost compound. The said constable then asked Police Constable Grant, who was on duty at the outpost desk, to lodge the motorcycle.
As Constable Grant was lodging the motorcycle, she observed a white open-back vehicle marked with the license plate “On Test” entering the compound. “The vehicle had two males in the front and three boys in the back tray,” police said. Subsequently, both men from the front exited the vehicle. The constable said that as one of the men approached the motorcycle without uttering a word, she informed him that he could not remove the motorcycle from the police compound.
Notwithstanding, the man ignored her and responded: “I don’t have time, the police can do what they want to do,” before loading the motorcycle onto the vehicle and driving out of the compound. The police later recovered the motorcycle at one of the suspect’s homes, and it is currently being held at the Mackenzie Police Station. However, they are on the hunt for the two suspects.
