Surinam Airways (SLM) has reportedly resumed its flights to Cayenne. Each Friday there will be air traffic between Paramaribo and Cayenne.
The national carrier applauded the fact that the flights between these two cities are back on its flights schedule. Before the SLM resumed these flights passengers from Suriname had to travel to Cayenne via land but now they can easily catch a flight to reach their destinations in neighboring French Guiana.
“With the resumption of this flight route Surinam Airways contributes to the strengthening of the economic and cultural ties between the two countries. This will speed up trips for family visits or business,” said the SLM.
The national carrier explained that this route is also very important to passengers who want to travel to destinations in Europe such as Paris, the Netherlands or Belgium. The SLM is currently working hard to expand its network and to obtain the rights to transporting passengers between Cayenne and Belem. The further expansion of this route will establish an important link and will contribute to the company's growth in South America.
