BIZA says its workers must have positive professional attitude

PARAMARIBO – The Ministry of Home Affairs (BIZA) recently made it clear that it would not tolerate unprofessional attitude in the workplace. It made this statement in response to a video that went viral on social media. The video evidently shows a woman who works at a Central Bureau for Civic Affairs (CBB) and who eats food and talks on the phone behind the counter during business hours while customers are waiting for her to help them.

 

“This conduct is in violation of the values that the ministry and the CBB expect from our co-workers and does not reflect the quality of customer service that we want to offer. The management team at BIZA and the CBB has spared no efforts in making sure that its employees have received special training regarding customer service. The behaviour that was caught on camera is deemed unacceptable by us,” said the BIZA Ministry. The employee in question has already been summoned to account for her actions and has reportedly been given a serious warning. The CBB made it clear that it wants all citizens to be treated with respect. “We want to assure all of the customers of the CBB that this incident was taken seriously.
