China gives millions to Suriname as New Year’s gift

Suriname has received $9.6 million from the People’s Republic of  China. Half of this is interest free while the other half is a donation. Both nations formally wrote down the specifications for the financing of the Wanica Medical Center Construction Project in a Letter of Exchange. Chinese Ambassador Yang Zigang signed the letter on behalf of China while the ministers of Finance and Foreign Affairs signed the letter on behalf of Suriname.
