PARAMARIBO – A driver was robbed twice in Paramaribo on Sunday. He was first robbed of his car battery before being robbed of his gold bracelet in the Calcuttastraat. After his car battery was stolen he called the police. A police unit arrived on the scene to fill in a police report but after the police unit had left two men who were in a black car pulled over next to his car and one of them exited the vehicle. The man who had exited the vehicle asked him what was wrong before suddenly snatching the driver’s gold bracelet. He then jumped back in his car and fled the scene with his accomplice. The driver called the police again to report the second robbery. The investigation is ongoing. The perpetrators are still at large. …[+]
