PARAMARIBO – “People with a disability who qualify to receive a Money Card or Moni Karts still have not received it,” said Aniel Koendjbiharie, chairman of Stichting Wan Okasi. Koendjbiharie pointed out that no solution is being sought to help people with a disability with this problem. He explained that one solution would be to pay them their welfare at the cash register or via the bank.

 Koendjbiharie is puzzled by the fact that the government keeps insisting that welfare must be paid via the Money Card although there is no material to produce these cards.

“Next week I will summon the people who still haven’t received the Money Card to get registered so that I can get a clear picture of the size of this problem before presenting the issue to the president because the minister of Social Affairs can’t solve this problem,” said Koendjbiharie…[+]
