PARAMARIBO – A 41-year-old man was recently sentenced to 2 years in prison after he was found guilty of raping his underage stepdaughter. The victim told the court that her stepfather, R.A., had sex with her against her will. The sexual assault was uncovered after the victim had refused to stay in the same house with her stepfather. She made it clear that she wanted to stay with her biological father. When her mother asked her why she wanted to move out, she revealed that her stepdad had raped her. R.A. denied the charges.
