PARAMARIBO – A 44-year-old man was recently arrested on an aggravated assault charge after he had stabbed a 17-year-old boy. Officers from the Latour Police Department rushed to the location after they had been informed of the attack. Reports indicate that several boys were walking in the Bernadette Sionweg when they were suddenly being chased by the suspect, E.L. E.L. managed to grab 17-year-old D.D. before stabbing him in various parts of his body. The teenager was rushed to the Emergency Room at the Academic Hospital Paramaribo (AZP). After the suspect had stabbed the teenager, he fled the scene but was caught and arrested later that day. E.L. is currently in jail awaiting trial. The investigation is ongoing…[+]
