Nikos survey: “39% has been victim of crime”

SURINAME – The results of a  survey that was recently carried out by the  NGO Instituut voor Kaderontwikkeling en Onderzoek in Suriname (NIKOS) indicate that  39% of the people or their housemate or neighbor has fallen victim to some type of crime last year. The survey was carried out from February 25 until March 6. 745 people participated in the survey. 35% of them indicated that they had fallen victim to theft, burglary and  home invasion robbery while 4% mentioned another type of crime. 61% of the people indicated that they had not experienced any type of crime last year…[+]
