PARAMARIBO – Tigana M. alias Pepe was recently ordered by the court to pay back the money that he had received from people who wanted to rent one of his apartments. He had received money from six people but failed to provide an apartment to them. All of the would-be tenants want their money back. Pepe claimed that he has already paid back one of the victims. He received money from his victims who wanted to reserve an apartment on multiple occasions. Pepe was sentenced to one year in prison and he was also given three years’ probation. The prosecutor demanded that the defendant should pay twenty-seven thousand Surinamese dollars and four hundred Euros to the state for the victims within the next 18 months.
