Police units from the Brokopondo Police Department on Thursday launched a large-scale eviction operation in the Dam 10 area with the assistance of the National Army, the Mobile Unit, the Regional Support Team (RBT), the Gold Sector Regulation Commission and Suralco.  Police Inspector Rieknath Kalloe, who led the police operation under the supervision of Chief Inspector Stanley Benschop confirmed that dozens of people were evicted from the area.
