SURINAME – The complaint that the ODE party presented to President Desiré Bouterse has been rejected. The chairman of ODE, Ferdinand Louis, told Times of Suriname that he does not agree with the decision to reject his party for a second time because of the 1% requirement. He made it clear that his party does in fact meet this requirement. The 1% requirement clearly states that each political party must prove that it has the support of at least 1% of the number of the nation’s voters.
