The political wing of the Federation of Farmers and Farm Work (PVF) and the National Party Suriname (NPS) have formed a strategic alliance in order to haul in parliamentary in the districts Saramacca and Nickerie. The PVF will reportedly help the NPS to get its candidate elected in the Saramacca District while the NPS will give its spot on the list of candidates for the Nickerie Districts to the PVF. The seven opposition parties which have formed a political bloc known as the G7  will reportedly compile a collective list of candidates for each district.
