SURINAME – The State Oil Company (Staatsolie NV) and the government have invested $50 million in the expansion of the company’s power plant at Tout Lui Fout. Last week two  Wärtsilä generators were imported. Each generator reportedly has a 17 Mega Watt capacity. The generators which will be up and running at the end of April or at the beginning of May were transported from the harbor to Staatsolie by water.
