A man was arrested and charged with kidnapping a 16-year-old girl who had run away from home. The teenager had a secret relationship with the suspect. When the girl’s parents could not find her, they went to the police to fill in a missing person’s report. The police launched an investigation and managed to track down the whereabouts of the teenager. As it turns out the girl had moved in with her boyfriend at his house located at Calcutta in the Saramacca District. She had reportedly been missing for 2 weeks and has been reunited with her parents. If found guilty of kidnapping, the girl’s boyfriend could spend the next 6 to 12 years behind bars at a state penitentiary. The suspect is currently in jail awaiting trial. …[+]
