Telesur hit by multiple thefts

The Telecommunication Company Suriname (Telesur) recently reported the theft of three storage batteries of its mobile stations. Last year it reported about thirty thefts. Deputy Director Edmund Neus told Times of Suriname that “this is a serious situation.” On Januray 1, the batteries of a mobile station in Mariënburg were stolen. Thieves targeted the mobile station at Kampong Baroe in the  Saramacca District on Saturday and on Sunday they hit the mobile station along the Anton Dragtenweg.
