PARAMARIBO – A construction worker who was robbed of SRD 9,000 and personal documents claimed that the robber hid the loot in his underwear. He has already notified the police of the armed robbery. The construction worker told the police that he was in the vicinity of the Gladiolenstraat with a friend when the suspect approached him. The suspect who was armed with a machete  snatched his bag which contained the money and the personal documents. He then put the loot in his underwear before fleeing the scene on foot. Bystanders who started yelling and screaming told the suspect to give the stolen money and documents back but he did not comply. The investigation is ongoing. The perpetrator is still at large…[+]
