World Tuberculosis Day: “Slight increase of TB cases in Suriname”

SURINAME – The National Tuberculosis Program (NTP) registered 157 tuberculosis cases in 2014. There were reportedly 144 TB cases in 2013 which means that there has been a slight increase. The increase is the result of the improved TB tracking system. As countries marked World Tuberculosis Day on March 24, WHO is calling for “global solidarity and action” to support a new 20-year strategy, which aims to end the global tuberculosis epidemic.
