USA – An armed man, believed to have come from Indiana, was shot by U.S. Secret Service agents near the White House after a confrontation early Sunday, authorities said.
No one else was injured in the shooting, which occurred around midnight about a block from the White House, according to a statement from the Secret Service. President Donald Trump was in Florida at the time.
The Secret Service received information from local police about a reportedly “suicidal individual” traveling from Indiana. Agents located the man’s car and a person matching the given description nearby.
"As officers approached, the individual brandished a firearm, leading to an armed confrontation during which shots were fired by our personnel," the Secret Service said in a statement.
