Minister Stanley Raghoebarsing is warning politicians to stop tainting the reputation of Suriname. “Let's not destroy our country with words,” said Minister Raghoebarsing who urged politicians to stop dragging Suriname through the mud. The Finance minister explained that the whole world is watching the developments in Suriname and that investors want stability and certainty. “Everybody wants to come here to do business and to make in estments. A safe investment climate is crucial and I say that we are still the safest country in the Caribbean,” said the minister who added that Suriname currently meets international standards regarding the measures aimed at tackling money laundering.
