PARAMARIBO – Suriname on Saturday received the second shipment of food products from India. Reports indicate that 67 shipping containers that are filled with 28 types of food products reached the harbor.
The aid from India is aimed at supporting Suriname and strengthening food security. There will be three shipments in total. The first shipment of 21 shipping containers arrived in January 2025 and the food products were distributed as part of the national distribution program. Suriname will receive 44 shipping containers when the third shipment arrives.

Ramdin. Minister Ramdin emphasized the importance of the food products for the nation’s social programs. The ambassador pointed out that India wants to support other countries and that it also wants to strengthen the bilateral ties with Suriname.
